2012 Peugeot Urban Crossover Concept New Vision of a Compact Crossover

Peugeot Urban Crossover Concept
Cheekiness and Seduction ...

A worldwide reflection on the motor vehicle in a world that is ever more urbanised At that start of the decade, 30 cities in the world had populations of more than 10 million. By 2050, 5.3 billion inhabitants of the planet will live in mega-conurbations. Peugeot, aware of
changes in the world around it, led a reflection on a multi-role compact vehicle, equally at ease in the urban infrastructure, as on the open road.

Urban Crossover Concept will be presented in turn at the Beijing Motor Show in April and at the Paris International, in October, so as to illustrate the product of this reflection in a global perspective.

Elegant and cheeky, refined and charismatic, sporty and seductive, with Urban Crossover Concept, Peugeot offers a new vision of a compact Crossover that is modern and relaxed, dynamic and seductive.

Cities are changing, mobility as well
From Sao Paulo to Shanghai, from London to Kuala Lumpur, from Cape Town to Moscow, the city lives, changes, grows. Humanity becomes more and more urban, at a rate not seen before. A new generation of city dwellers is being born.

For them, with them, the international teams from Style Peugeot in Paris, in Shanghai and in Sao Paulo have created a new type of vehicle: the Urban Crossover Concept.

Urban by its contained dimensions (with a length of 4m14 and a width of 1m74), adventurer by its athletic and sleek style, conferring on it an extraordinary and universal power of seduction. Crossover, it is the vehicle which marries the elegance and refinement of a saloon, the cheekiness, the mischievousness of an SUV, with the multi-role capability and unusual spaciousness for this market segment.

A reflection on the Crossover in the B segment, which draws on considerable expertise in production and concept cars Peugeot, with its strong credibility in the field of compact cars (15 million units produced in the 200 series) and a legitimacy that is recent, but already remarkable in the Crossover field, with the success of 3008 (368 000 units have been sold in the world to date) and the presentation of the SXC concept car at the Shanghai Motor Show in 2011, wanted to develop the reflections and marry these two areas of excellence in a concept car.

Urban Crossover Concept wants to be the synthesis of Peugeot’s know-how in creating a small vehicle combining agility, compactness, multi-role ability and confident styling at the service of young city dwellers that like the city, live the city, creating the city, while still loving to escape from it.

A unique Style unique, marrying elegance with robustness
Urban Crossover Concept naturally embodies Peugeots new styling cues.
With its athletic and classy lines, Urban Crossover Concept imposes its audacious posture which
shakes up and reinvents the standards of large vehicles for the small vehicle segment.

Urban Crossover Concept associates aspects that are normally different and separate:
•     the height and the robustness of a modern SUV, concerned to be light and aerodynamic
•     the finesse, the elegance and the dynamism of the new Peugeot saloons
•     but also, the multi-role ability of a large vehicle that knows how to remain compact

The front end is at the same time refined and full of power. Models that are sensual and with a highly sculpted bonnet or front wings give a reassuring impression of protection and robustness. The smiling grille, always floating, offers a massive outline, shaped in metal.

It is associated with a sophisticated dual-aspect treatment of the image of Peugeot’s new badge. This care in the treatment of details can of course be found in the precise and original design of the headlamps which further refreshes the Peugeot look. Its lower edge closely follows the technical functions showing a keen pupil of the feline, so giving it an even more expressive and singular character. In profile, the smooth flow between the raked windscreen and the line of the roof continues to the spoiler, creating a profiled and very dynamic outline. The lines of the side, laid out in the direction of the road are evocative of a car that is lively, classy and very dynamic. Urban Crossover Concept presents a sculpturing of the wings and side that is very sensual and sophisticated evocative of natural athletic qualities. The rounded shape of the wheel arches symbolises the qualities of agility associated with all road vehicles.

The raised body and large wheels reveal the true multi-role qualities for family or working life, while also contributing to the reading of a car that is light, respectful of its environment.
Finally, the soft wave of the roof underlines the exclusive upper finishers, crafted in metal. It appears to be set in the body and directly inspired by the RCZ coupé. This refinement is found in the precise design of the roof bars, evocative of both speed and the leisure use of the vehicle.
At the rear, with the dynamic design with the lamps embedded with precision in the body, it presents a luminous Peugeot signature with 3 floating claws using LED technology. The rear volume is monolithic, a symbol of controlled power and solidity. It is associated with lines that are dynamic in character and sculpted models.
Finally, the aluminium spoiler and roof double bubble are reminiscent of the sporty and elegant aspect of the RCZ.
In this way, Urban Crossover Concept posses a pronounced personality, associating:
•        power and robustness by its posture and its contours
•        elegant, sensual and very dynamic lines
•        refinement and technology in the treatment of exclusive details
Urban Crossover Concept transcends border. The borders of vehicle style and segmentation. The borders of the needs of future generations of customers. The borders between the city and nature. The borders between continents.

Lamborghini Urus SUV At the 2012 Beijing Motor Show

Lamborghini Urus – The SUV super athlete

• Lamborghini presents SUV concept vehicle with extreme performance
• Unique, powerfully dynamic design, interior with carbon fiber innovations such as Forged Composite
• Breathtaking dynamics thanks to 440 kW / 600 hp and lightweight design technology; best in class CO2 figure among the competition

At the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, Automobili Lamborghini presents the ultimate super athlete in the SUV segment. With the Urus concept car, Lamborghini is completely redefining dynamics and design in this category. The Urus combines unique design, a fascinating interior and outstanding performance with versatility and everyday usability.

Output of around 440 kW / 600 hp and Lamborghini’s excellent know-how in the field of lightweight design technologies guarantee breathtaking dynamics. At the same time, the Urus will offer the lowest CO2 figure of all comparable vehicles. As an SUV concept with four generous seats, a versatile luggage compartment, variable ground clearance and, of course, permanent all-wheel drive, the Urus delivers unique driving fun with virtually no limitations. The interior, too, matches the standards of this super athlete with innovative materials featuring carbon fiber technology like the patented Forged Composite.

The luxury SUV segment is successful worldwide and promises continued strong growth – a luxurious and powerful SUV is the most emotional way to drive a four-door vehicle equipped to meet all the demands of everyday mobility and yet enjoy refined driving fun. The Urus means that a Lamborghini can now be used by a household as its primary car. This expands the brand’s customer base enormously – appealing to families and to the drivers of Lamborghini super sports cars who have thus far driven SUV models from other brands. Target markets are primarily the USA, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, the Middle East and China. The annual production volume could conceivably be around 3,000 vehicles.
“The Urus is a very concrete idea for the future of Lamborghini – as a third model line and as the perfect complement to our super sports cars,” says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “SUVs stand for freedom and emotion. SUVs make up one of the most successful market segments worldwide. The Urus is the most extreme interpretation of the SUV idea; it is the Lamborghini of the SUVs.”

Heritage and Name
Permanent all-wheel drive is part of the Lamborghini DNA; but the brand from Sant’Agata Bolognese is also no stranger to the SUV segment – Lamborghini founded the super-luxury SUV segment with the legendary LM002. When it was unveiled in 1985, the LM002 was an absolutely revolutionary vehicle. An automobile suitable for off-road driving with a twelve-cylinder engine and 450 hp, a top speed of more than 210 km/h, a luxurious interior and, above all, an absolutely stunning appearance – it was utterly unthinkable at the time. The Lamborghini LM002 remained in production until 1992. And, although barely more than 300 units were ever built, the LM002 has secured its place in automotive history.

With the Urus, Lamborghini designers and engineers have created a new icon in automotive history – that much is certain. As has long been the tradition at Lamborghini, its name is derived once more from the world of bulls – the Urus, also known as Aurochs, is one of the large, wild ancestors of domestic cattle. Urus bulls could measure up to 1.8 meters at the shoulder. The Spanish fighting bull, as bred for the past 500 years, is still very close to the Urus in its appearance.

Concept and Technology
The Urus is the Lamborghini among SUVs. Its concept places design, performance and driving fun firmly and uncompromisingly front and center and redefines the benchmark for the competition. Yet it offers plenty of space for four people and a generous amount of luggage or shopping. The Urus is the Lamborghini for everyday use, for the family, for leisure pursuits with friends.

Most importantly, however, it is a true Lamborghini. The Urus has a unique, utterly unmistakable appearance. It looks powerful, but not bulky. It is muscular and highly athletic, but also elegant. At a length of 4.99 meters, it fits perfectly into the sporty SUV class. At a height of just 1.66 meters, however, it is considerably lower than all its competitors. Together with its width of 1.99 meters, the Lamborghini Urus boasts the perfect proportions for the super athlete in the segment.

The key to its performance is primarily the drive – the heart of every Lamborghini. The target has been set – expect around 440 kW / 600 hp. Permanent all-wheel drive with traction control is, of course, a given.

One target is clearly defined – the Lamborghini Urus will beat all comparable competitors when it comes to CO2 emissions. One important prerequisite for this is low weight. The Urus will be considerably lighter than its competitors, sticking firmly to the Lamborghini lightweight design philosophy. The steps to achieve this include an intelligent material mix for the structure and bodyshell and, for the first time, systematic lightweight design in the interior, too. The consistent application of innovative carbon fiber technologies is a given – Automobili Lamborghini possesses unique know-how in this particular field.

Lightweight design is the decisive prerequisite not only for moderate fuel consumption, but also for dynamics and handling. The Urus will set new benchmarks here, too. A low center of gravity and a highly variable bodyshell height are among the solutions. The Lamborghini SUV is also notable for its innovative, adaptive aerodynamics. In combination with the variable bodyshell height, the height-adjustable front spoiler facilitates a good approach angle and excellent obstacle clearance. At its lowest setting, however, it aids stability at high speeds. The form is, of course, aerodynamically refined. At the upper edge of the rear windshield is a deflector that diverts the airflow along the rear windshield and onto the adjustable spoiler. In combination with the likewise adaptive rear spoiler, the aerodynamic balance of the Lamborghini Urus can even be adjusted to suit the prevailing driving conditions.

Design
Lamborghini design is unique. Every Lamborghini is an artwork of avant-garde design, a technical sculpture in rapid movement. Every Lamborghini is pure and minimalist – exhibiting a clear focus on what matters. The Lamborghini Urus concept car adheres to this logic just as firmly as the Aventador sports car. Extremely tight, razor-sharp lines define a precision that is at the very forefront of automotive design. And the clean, taut, finely executed surfaces show the exceptional degree of competence and experience possessed by Lamborghini in design, construction and bodyshell manufacturing. The result is a tremendously precise design language with a strong technical appeal that is amazingly spirited and light in its expression.

It starts at the front, which already displays the clear family resemblance. The strong three-dimensionality with sharp lines, a clear arrow form, large air intakes left and right, the Y shape in the headlamps, the aerodynamically refined function of the elements and the lines that run from the hood over the roof to the rear of the vehicle – these characteristics of the Lamborghini design language are all evident in the Urus.

And yet every single detail has been reinterpreted – for example, the headlamps now take on a horizontal, heptagonal form and feature full LED technology consisting of two arrays each with three high-performance LEDs. LED light guides lend the daytime running lights their characteristic Y-shape, while the LED fog lamps are positioned beneath the huge air intakes. Between them is the adaptive front spoiler. Characteristic for the side view of the Urus is the narrow window surface that tapers sharply toward the rear. Together with the highly dynamic roofline and the extremely muscular rear wheel arch, they create a taut and powerfully sporty look. The marked indent formed behind the front wheel arch by the air intake breaks the side view to give it a surprising degree of lightness.

Substantial wheels are part of any Lamborghini, especially if it redefines dynamics in the SUV segment – the all-new 24-inch wheels sport a double-spoke design and are forged from matte-finish aluminum. Five carbon fiber winglets optimize ventilation. The Urus is painted in a rich, lightly shimmering red that offers the ideal contrast for the many bodyshell parts made from carbon fiber reinforced polymer. A large proportion of the front spoiler, the complete side sills and the mighty rear diffuser all clearly display their carbon fiber origins. There are no conventional exterior mirrors, instead small and aerodynamically optimized cameras monitor traffic conditions behind the vehicle. These images are displayed via two TFT screens placed in ergonomically perfect positions on the left and right of the cockpit.
The rear end of the Urus is astonishingly round for a Lamborghini; it looks powerful, but in no way bulky. The narrow rear lights featuring the Y signature are connected by a black strip that adds emphasis to the car’s breadth. The attention paid by Lamborghini designers to detail is evident everywhere, even on the exhaust system. The four hexagonal end pipes are carefully fitted into chrome surrounds.

Interior
The Lamborghini Urus completely redefines the term sporty within the SUV segment, yet without restricting its everyday usability. This is particularly evident in its interior – the driver and up to three passengers feel like they are wearing a perfectly made-to-measure suit – carefully fitted, but comfortable. Yet there can be no doubt that what we are dealing with here is the ultimate sports car among SUVs. Virtually the complete interior is – in keeping with the Lamborghini lightweight design strategy – finished in carbon fiber reinforced polymer.

Automobili Lamborghini possesses a unique competence in the use of carbon materials, and exhibits this innovative technology in the Urus concept car. The center tunnel is particularly notable – an open, skeletal carbon fiber structure made from Forged Composite®. It carries through the entire interior and is only partially clad in leather-upholstered cushioning. Single cushions also clad the four bucket seats. The seating position is lower and flatter than in any other vehicle in the segment. Also all four bucket seats are made from Forged Composite®.
The Lamborghini Urus concept car also features an extremely minimized operating philosophy. Behind the steering wheel are only the shift paddles for the dual-clutch transmission. All other functions such as indicators, lights and windshield wipers are incorporated into either the multifunction steering wheel or the center console. The driver is delivered information via a freely programmable TFT screen behind the steering wheel. Secondary functions like navigation, entertainment and climate control are operated via a touchscreen on the center tunnel. A further touchscreen is available for rear seat passengers.

2012 Benelli TNT 899

Quality, innovation, range. Benelli reboots after their 100th year anniversary in 2011 to take on the market with even greater determination. The goals have been stated clearly: maximum product quality, an updated, more polished range, production in Italy but with marketing operations throughout the world. With all this, 2012 is sure to be a banner year with consolidation of the existing production organization in view of the gradual introduction of brand new models that will top off Benelli’s offer and complete the manufacturer’s relaunch started five years ago following the acquisition by QJ.

The Benelli motorcycle range for 2012 has been renewed, refined and enriched with new models. The first new product is the Motard 250 developed by Benelli QJ for the world’s emerging markets, but released in Italy with the clear objective of attracting a younger set of buyers to motorcycling in a critical moment where cost-awareness is at its maximum. Spunky, care in the details, fun to ride on any type of road, the new Motard 250 is contemporary and reliable thanks to the brand-new liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. Lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, it’s the right choice for buyers looking for the sweetest riding pleasure at the right price. The model will be available next year second half. The TNT range’s quality and reliability is on the increase thanks to a painstaking process of optimization that sees these models setting the standard in their respective categories.

Tre-K, touring and sport for 2012: the new calibration of the suspensions guarantees maximum comfort in all riding conditions, even with a passenger on board, at the same time enhancing the sporty feel of the Tre-K models. These bikes have also benefited from the increased quality of components and assembly to offer the Benelli enthusiast the best in terms of reliability and just plain fun. What’s more, the renewed colour themes highlight the multi-faceted and dynamic lines of the Tre-K even more than in the past. Tre-K 1130 Amazonas: the queen of the sporty grand tourers is back with a new take on many of her details, including the mapping of the three cylinders intended to reduce fuel consumption and increase the regularity of fuel injection, and the new suspensions, chosen to improve riding efficiency while lowering the seat. The updated Tre-K 1130 Amazonas will be available at Benelli dealers from March 2012.

2012 promises to be a year full of new innovations for the Benelli scooter range. Included in the new line-up is the Caffènero 250, ideal for buyers seeking a versatile scooter, practical for medium distances but at the same time at perfect ease in manoeuvring city streets. The new engine guarantees excellent pick-up and a cruising speed that adapts to any condition, not to mention competitive fuel consumption. The result is a scooter that offers an efficient and dynamic way of getting around. The Caffènero 250 will be available from April 2012. Designed and constructed by Benelli QJ for emerging markets around the world, the new X125 and X150 are two models ready to be introduced with pride on European markets too. A totally new product is the brilliant X125 designed to slither through traffic. It’s light, agile, perky, a vehicle designed for the city where it stands out for its comfort, care in the details, and excellent braking. Offered in vivid colours, the new X125 is ecological: in both 4-stroke engines 125 and 150, the concern for the environment has taken a big role, thus the highly reduced consumption. The model will be available next year second half. Comes on the list the successful model Macis in a 125 version, but produced in a 150 version for travelling motorways and ring roads. Instantly recognizable for its original design, the model sports unique lines and is matched with an indisputable dynamic efficiency so that even the daily ride from home to office becomes an enormous pleasure. The Macis will be available at all Benelli dealers from March 2012. But the new products don’t stop here: one of the best-selling models out of the Pesaro manufacturer, Pepe, the popular 2-stroke single-cylinder engine, is now complemented by a new and evolved 4-stroke version, the ecological and highly fuel-efficient Pepe 50 4T scooter designed for city riders who want maximum comfort and an optimum value. The new Pepe 50 4T will be available in March 2012, while the Pepe 50 with 2-stroke engine is now available at the Benelli dealer network.

2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale – The most extreme Gallardo ever

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., is presenting at the Volkswagen Group Night in Frankfurt the most extreme Gallardo ever: the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale. Automobili Lamborghini is bringing motor racing excitement directly to the road. This new and most extreme top model in the Gallardo lineup is based on the successful race car from the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, the world's fastest single-make series. The car will be produced in a limited run of 150 numbered units. The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo championship brings professional racers and gentlemen drivers face-to-face in fiercely fought battles on Europe's most challenging racetracks such as Monza, Silverstone and Hockenheim. There are many similarities between the racing and road versions of this super sports car. For example, they both share the same V10 powerplant, which is used in the racing version with no modifications.

An enormous and manually variable rear spoiler for increased dynamic load
Right from first glance, these similarities are even more evident in the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale. In fact, it is equipped with the same rear spoiler that offers greater aerodynamic load – reaching in the best aerodynamic condition 3 times the load of the Gallardo LP 560-4 – for increased dynamic stability during tight, high-speed driving. As in the race cars, the rear spoiler can be varied manually in order to let the driver optimize the car's performance according to the track or road characteristics. Another element taken directly from the racing version is the removable engine hood with quick-release system. Both the spoiler and the hood are of course made of carbon composite material, as are a host of other components on the SuperTrofeo Stradale. Together with aluminum, carbon fiber is the basis behind the extremely lightweight construction of Gallardo's new top model.

Lightweight construction through consistent use of carbon fiber.
The Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale boasts a maximum dry weight of 1340 kilograms. It beats the already lean Gallardo LP 560-4 by 70 kilograms, which gives the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale a stunning power-to-weight ratio of 2.35 kilograms per HP for breathtaking performance. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.4 seconds and reaches 200 km/h just 10.4 seconds later. Its forward thrust finally tops out at 320 Km/h.

"Rosso Mars" stands for Italy's racing tradition
The Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale sports a brand new "Rosso Mars" finish that underscores the special connection between ultimate race track performance and Lamborghini's "Italianness". The "Rosso Mars" color symbolizes Italy's traditional racing red, as established at the beginning of last century in motor racing, when the home nations of the competitors were indicated by the color of the paint on the vehicles. Dark green stood for Great Britain, blue was for France, white (and silver later on) represented Germany, white and blu stripes for USA, and red was the color of all race cars from Italy.

Red, black and carbon fiber characterize the exterior
The exterior appearance of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale is perfectly accentuated by a matte black finish on the large rear spoiler, the engine hood and the front air intakes, which contrasts with the "Rosso Mars" paint. The forged wheels are painted in high-gloss black, a color that is also available on the roof as an option. The rocker panel covers, impressive rear diffuser and outside mirror housings are made of carbon fiber polished to a high gloss, while the brake calipers are accented in red for the first time on a Lamborghini. It's a perfect match with the exterior color and racing concept of this new super sports car. And besides the historically suggestive "Rosso Mars", the new Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale is also available upon request in "Grigio Telesto" or "Bianco Monocerus" with the roof available in gloss black as an option, as mentioned above.

Minimalist sporty interior
Black and red, the perfect combination of sporty minimalism, are the dominant shades inside the Super Trofeo Stradale. The most broadly used materials are Alcantara - in "Rosso Mars" on the underside of the dashboard, the central part of the seat cushion and the backrest - and extremely lightweight carbon fiber. Black Alcantara with contrasting red top-stitching is used to finish the other parts of the interior. The steering wheel is upholstered in black suede and also features red top-stitching. The door panels, the monocoque racing seats and the center console cover are made of carbon fiber, the construction of which Lamborghini has achieved a world-leading expertise. Discreet sporty accents are provided by dark chrome visible metal parts. Upon request, an interior layout including elements made of carbon fiber, such as the handbrake frame, the middle of the center console, the lower rim of the steering wheel, the decorative frames around the main and secondary instrument panels, the door handles, and the handle for opening the glove box (also available upon request), can be ordered.

Phenomenal powerplant
Like the Super Trofeo competition version, the new Super Trofeo Stradale is based on the Gallardo Superleggera technical approach. The V10 powerplant generates 570 HP, equivalent to 419 kW, which is fully available at 8000 RPM. The maximum torque is equally impressive, with the torque curve peaking at 540 Nm at 6500 RPM. The V10's unique firing order delivers the striking sound you hear in motor racing. Transmission "race tested" in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo championship series Like the race car, the Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale offers the robotized e-gear six-speed transmission controlled by steering wheel paddles as standard equipment. This electronically controlled system shifts through its six gears smoothly and much faster than any human being could. And for maximum acceleration from a standing start, the transmission can be set to the "Thrust Mode" – a program that allows to reach the best performance possible executing a racing start with minimal tire slippage at an initial engine speed of approximately 5000 rpm.

Permanent all-wheel drive for maximum traction in any situation
Every kilometer in the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale is packed with sheer excitement, in part due to its unrelenting grip in virtually all situations thanks to all-wheel drive. At the end of the day, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo is the only single-brand racing series in the world that features all-wheel drive race cars. The Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale is a highly concentrated driving machine offering a truly stunning driving experience with breathtaking cornering speeds and fast, immediate response. Its road manners are always precise, stable and completely safe.

Suspension with unmatched precision
The layout of the suspension is directly derived from motor racing, with a double aluminum wishbone guiding the wheels. Precise rack-and-pinion steering gives the driver a very close connection to the road. As is true for the Gallardo Superleggera, the vehicle is specially set up to take full advantage of its dynamic potential. No other model in the Gallardo line is as close to being a true race car. Another great feature is the ultra-lightweight 19-inch wheels, which alone save some 13 kilograms. The lightweight and sturdy wheel bearings and bolts are made from titanium and high performance Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires are fitted.

Brakes with unmatched stopping power
Behind the massive wheels are brakes designed for unmatched stopping power, as controlled by the ESP stability control system, which is standard equipment. The front axle is equipped with aluminum calipers with eight pistons each, and the calipers on the rear axle have four pistons each. The ventilated discs on the front and rear measure 365 and 356 millimeters, respectively. Upon request, Lamborghini will install a carbon-ceramic brake system. The carbon-ceramic discs measure 380 mm for the front wheels and 356 mm for the rear wheels.

Racing-type options
The optional equipment designed with racing in mind includes not only the carbon-fiber ceramic brake discs, but also a tubular interior roll cage, 4-point safety belts and fire extinguisher. On the other hand, those who want comfort can equip their Super Trofeo Stradale with a satellite navigation, with Bluetooth connection for mobile phones, an anti-theft system, and a lifting system that raises the front axle.

Executed with quality and precision, the two new Challenger Green With Envy models provide an extra dose of exclusivity. "We're using Green With Envy on the new 2011 Dodge Challengers to pay tribute to some of the coolest paint colors from our past, including the "Sublime" and "Green Go" Dodge Challengers from the 1970's and more recently, the "Snakeskin Green" Vipers from 2008-2010," said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO, Dodge Brand and Senior Vice President , Product Design - Chrysler Group LLC. "Not only will this exclusive heritage color remain unique to the Dodge brand, it adds another fresh and exciting element to our modern American muscle coupe." Challenger SRT8 Green With Envy models are available for ordering now at Dodge dealerships, while orders for the Challenger R/T Classic models will begin in late first quarter, 2011.
2011 DODGE CHALLENGER R/T CLASSIC Upgraded for the performance enthusiast, the new 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic includes a new performance-tuned suspension with rail-like handling, more power from the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 and more standard equipment. The limited edition Green With Envy model features two A-line body-side stripes – either in matte black (standard) or white (optional). New five-spoke, cast-aluminum wheels are styled in the spirit of nostalgic Halibrand or "Kidney Bean" style with a modern interpretation. The legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine adds a new cold-air induction system for 375 track-tearing horsepower (with standard Tremec six-speed manual transmission) and 372 horsepower (with optional five-speed Auto Stick transmission). Fuel Saver technology on the automatic transmission seamlessly transitions to high-fuel-economy four-cylinder mode when less power is needed and V-8 mode when more power is in demand. This optimizes fuel economy when full V-8 power is not required, without sacrificing vehicle performance or capability. The EPA fuel economy, miles per gallon rating is 16/25 (city/hwy) for both the automatic transmission and manual transmission models. Other standard equipment on the new 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic package includes "Challenger" fender badges in classic script, classic "egg-crate grille" with heritage "R/T" badge, functional hood scoops, high-intensity discharge headlamps (HID), heated front seats and six Boston Acoustics premium speakers with 276-watt amplifier. The standard Super Track Pak Group adds a high-performance steering gear, high-performance brake linings, high-performance tuned monotube-shock absorbers, P245/45R20 Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car three-season tires and three-mode ESC with "full off." 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8 This new and exclusive Green With Envy paint scheme joins the return of the legendary 392-cubic inch HEMI powertrain under the hood in the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392. In addition to the unique exterior, dual, full-body black stripes and 20-inch, five-spoke SRT-exclusive wheels with polished face and satin black painted pockets are standard. The race-inspired interior of the Challenger SRT8 392 features standard SRT-branded seats in Dark Slate Nappa Leather with Green With Envy accent bands in front and rear. Pumping out 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, the newest HEMI engine in the SRT product lineup provides an additional 90 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,900 rpm compared with the previous 6.1-liter V-8 engine. The added torque allows for inspired standing starts and improved straight-line performance while new, performance-tuned motor mounts improve idle stability and ride control at any speed. An active intake manifold and high-lift camshaft with cam phasing provides maximum low-end torque while optimizing high-end power. New for 2011 is the Fuel Saver technology (four-cylinder mode) in automatic transmission equipped models, which allows the engine to operate economically on four cylinders or use all eight cylinders when needed. The 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 gets 14/22 (city/hwy) miles per gallon (mpg) with the automatic transmission model (a 15 percent increase on highway versus 2010 model) and 14/23 mpg with the manual-transmission (a 4 percent increase on highway versus 2010). The MSRP for the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 featuring Green With Envy is $44,875 (includes $825 destination).
